Oh, summer rains… Many times there is thunder and lightning when it rains here, but this magical morning there was none. My little stinker snuck outside while I was putting the trash out and started playing in the rain… in her panties(well they look more like shorts)…
At first I was thinking, ‘Oh no! Back inside you’re gonna get soaked!’ But then I started to remember summer days in Colorado playing in the gutters and in the mud. I remember how wild and free I felt. How much joy it brought me to just dance in the rain and get drenched. Then I thought, ‘THIS is childhood.’ Why not let her get filthy? –> :::running inside grabbing camera:::
Why not let her splash in the puddles…
Why not let her discover new things in new ways freely!?
Why not let her dig her toes in the mud!? I hope these are the things she remembers about her childhood. The spontaneous, wild and free moments. The moments that she was completely fearless and full of pure joy.
My Mother tells me that when we were little, if the bath water was brown at the end of the day, it was good day. This day was a good day. <3
